LXML Contributes US$3,000 to Renovate Na Xieng Lae Primary School, Creating a Safer Learning Environment

Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML), working in partnership with local authorities and the community, officially handed over the newly renovated classroom building at Na Xieng Lae Primary School in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, on September 17, 2026. The renovation gives local children a safer, more modern, and more inspiring place to learn.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Saman Aneka, Managing Director of LXML, and company representatives; Mr. Siphachan Kongthongma, Head of the Vilabouly District Education and Sports Office; and members of the Village Development Committee, together with teachers, students, and residents of Na Xieng Lae Village.

The project was made possible through close tripartite cooperation and shared investment. LXML contributed construction and renovation materials valued at LAK 68,410,000 (approximately US$3,000), while the Na Xieng Lae Village community and the school also contributed to the project.

From Training to the Workplace: 17 Vilabouly Apprentices Complete LXML-Supported Programme

Seventeen apprentices from Vilabouly District have completed a three-year technical apprenticeship programme supported by Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML), marking an important step in their transition from formal training to employment with the company’s Maintenance Team.

The apprentices were recognised at a graduation ceremony held at the Lao-German Technical College, Vientiane Capital on 21 August 2026. They commenced their studies in Academic Year 2023–2024 and completed the programme in Academic Year 2025–2026.

The graduating group comprised two Fixed Plant Electrical Apprentices, two Instrumentation Apprentices, four Fixed Plant Mechanical Apprentices, three Fixed Plant Fabrication Apprentices, two Auto and Heavy Equipment Electrical Apprentices, and four Auto and Heavy Equipment Mechanical Apprentices.

Throughout the programme, the apprentices combined technical studies with on-the-job training at LXML’s Sepon Gold and Copper Mine. This practical experience enabled them to apply their classroom knowledge in a working environment while gaining greater familiarity with maintenance activities, workplace responsibilities and technical teamwork.

During their placements at the LXML site, the apprentices demonstrated commitment to their training and made valuable contributions to the Maintenance Team. Their practical participation also provided an opportunity to learn directly from experienced employees and strengthen the technical capabilities required for their future roles.

LXML invested approximately USD 155,000 to support the 17 apprentices throughout the three-year programme. The investment covered the training period from Academic Year 2023–2024 through Academic Year 2025–2026 and formed part of the company’s support for skills and career development among local students from Vilabouly District.

Following the successful completion of the programme, all 17 graduates will join the LXML Maintenance Team, where they will continue developing their technical knowledge, practical experience and careers with the company.

Their graduation represents both an individual achievement and an important transition into the workplace. The programme has equipped the graduates with skills across electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, fabrication, automotive and heavy-equipment maintenance disciplines relevant to their assigned roles.

Support for apprentices is continuing. In Academic Year 2026–2027, another 18 apprentices are undertaking the final year of the three-year programme.

Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, 25 July 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has handed over 28 cattle to five disadvantaged households in Vilabouly District, reinforcing its continued commitment to livelihood development, poverty reduction, and sustainable income generation in communities surrounding the Sepon Gold-Copper Mine.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Phouvanad Bounsiphom, Chairman of the Vilabouly District Administrative Committee; Mr. Vongphachan Souvannalath, Head of the District Agriculture and Environment Office; and Mr. Bouaphan Vanvilay, Head of the District Administrative Office. Representing LXML was Mr. Khamsy Chankham, Senior Superintendent – Community Relations and Local Development, together with village authorities and community members.

Valued at LAK 162,500,000, approximately US$7,300, the cattle were provided to five disadvantaged households located near the Sepon operation, including three families in Nonesomphou Village and two families in Nathaehnhei Village.

The initiative aims to promote cattle raising as a supplementary livelihood alongside traditional rice farming, helping families generate additional income, strengthen household food security, and build a more stable economic foundation. By supporting livestock development, the project provides practical assistance that can create long-term benefits as the cattle reproduce and household herds expand over time.

During the ceremony, Mr. Phouvanad Bounsiphom commended LXML’s support and encouraged the company to consider expanding the program to additional families and villages in the future. He also requested the District Agriculture and Environment Office to work closely with the recipient families by providing technical guidance, livestock health inspections, and animal husbandry support to ensure the cattle are well managed and deliver sustainable benefits.

ສຳລັບເບ້ຍໄມ້ກິນໝາກທີ່ນຳມາມອບໃນຄັ້ງນີ້ ມີຈຳນວນທັງໝົດ 640 ເບ້ຍ, ລວມມູນຄ່າ 42,800,000 ກີບ ເຊິ່ງໄດ້ຮັບການສະໜັບສະໜູນທຶນທັງໝົດຈາກ LXML. ປະເພດເບ້ຍໄມ້ປະກອບມີ: ຕົ້ນອາໂວຄາໂດ້ 100 ຕົ້ນ, ຕົ້ນໝາກເງາະ 100 ຕົ້ນ, ຕົ້ນໝາກລິນຈີ່ 100 ຕົ້ນ, ຕົ້ນອະງຸ່ນ 100 ຕົ້ນ ແລະ ເບ້ຍຜັກຫວານ 240 ເບ້ຍ. ເບ້ຍໄມ້ທັງໝົດ ແມ່ນໄດ້ກຳນົດມອບໃຫ້ 8 ຄອບຄົວເປົ້າໝາຍ ເພື່ອເຂົ້າຮ່ວມໂຄງການປູກທົດລອງ ເຊິ່ງເປັນບາດກ້າວສຳຄັນໃນການສົ່ງເສີມການຜະລິດເປັນສິນຄ້າ ເພື່ອສ້າງອາຊີບ ແລະ ເພີ່ມລາຍຮັບໃຫ້ກັບປະຊາຊົນຢ່າງຍືນຍົງ.

Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, 25 July 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has handed over 640 fruit tree and vegetable seedlings to residents of Nam Paken Village, Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, reinforcing its continued commitment to promoting sustainable livelihoods, community-based agricultural production, and long-term income generation in communities surrounding the Sepon Gold-Copper Mine.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Phouvanad Bounsiphom, Chairman of the Vilabouly District Administrative Committee; Mr. Vongphachan Souvannalath, Head of the District Agriculture and Environment Office; and Mr. Bouaphan Vanvilay, Head of the District Administrative Office. Representing LXML was Mr. Khamsy Chankham, Senior Superintendent– Community Relations & Development, together with village authorities and community members.

The project, valued at LAK 42,800,000, was fully funded by LXML and provided to eight target households participating in a pilot cultivation project. The seedlings included 100 avocado trees, 100 rambutan trees, 100 lychee trees, 100 grapevines, and 240 sweet vegetable seedlings.

The initiative aims to support local families in developing commercial agricultural production, creating additional income opportunities, and strengthening household livelihoods. By introducing selected fruit trees and high-value crops, the project also supports skills development and encourages participating families to build practical experience in crop cultivation and farm management.

If the pilot project proves successful and delivers positive results, LXML and local authorities plan to explore opportunities to expand the cultivation area and further develop the site into a local agro-tourism attraction and learning area for exotic crop cultivation. This would provide wider benefits for community members while creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and local economic development.

The handover reflects LXML’s practical approach to participatory community development by working closely with local authorities and villagers to address livelihood needs and promote sustainable income generation. Through initiatives such as this, LXML continues to support resilient communities and long-term socio-economic development in Vilabouly District.
