Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, 15 May 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has delivered a newly constructed surgical building to Vilabouly District Hospital, supporting efforts to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of public healthcare services for local communities.

The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Valiya Sichanthongthip, Deputy Party Secretary of Savannakhet Province; Mr. Souksakhone Phothilath, Party Secretary of Vilabouly District; Dr. Chanthala Phameesith, Head of the Savannakhet Provincial Health Department; and Mr. Saman Aneka, Managing Director of LXML. Representatives from district authorities, relevant government offices, the hospital management team, doctors, nurses, and other stakeholders also joined the ceremony.
Valued at US$135,000, the new surgical building is fully funded by LXML, with Vatthana Khounxap Construction Sole Co., Ltd. serving as the construction contractor.

The building is designed to support safe and efficient surgical services in line with medical requirements. It includes a general operating room, an infectious disease operating room, a pre-operative preparation room, a recovery room, an on-call doctor’s room, male and female changing rooms, a soiled linen storage room, a laundry room, a sterilization room, and a sterile storage room. The facility is also equipped with modern electrical and water supply systems to support safe medical operations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Saman Aneka said the project reflects LXML’s continued commitment to strengthening public health infrastructure in Vilabouly District and improving access to essential medical services for the local community.
“This surgical building will help enhance the capacity of Vilabouly District Hospital to provide timely, safe, and reliable treatment,” Mr. Saman said. “It will also help reduce the need for patient transfers to provincial hospitals, particularly for people in remote communities who may face challenges related to distance, time, and travel costs.”

On behalf of the government and local communities, Mr. Valiya Sichanthongthip expressed appreciation to LXML for its continued contribution to improving livelihoods and supporting public health development in the district. He also encouraged medical staff and relevant authorities to properly manage, maintain, and utilize the new facility to ensure its long-term and sustainable benefits for the community.

On 30 April 2026, a reception celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Laos diplomatic relations and the "China-Laos Year of Friendship" was held in Beijing. Lyu Xiaozhao, Vice Chairman of Chifeng Gold, and Zhao Guanghui, General Manager of Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML), a controlled subsidiary of Chifeng Gold in Laos, were invited to attend.

During the event, Lyu Xiaozhao greeted and demonstrated Laos People's Democratic Republic Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Thongsavanh Phomvihane the recent development of LXML's Sepon Gold and Copper Mine. Lyu noted that as the largest mining enterprise in Laos, the Sepon Mine has maintained stable and sustainable operations since its acquisition by Chifeng Gold, having cumulatively produced over one million ounces of gold. The mine has also created nearly 6,000 local jobs. As of March 2026, LXML has contributed more than US$2 billion to the Laos People's Democratic Republic in taxes, royalties, dividends, and other fees.

Through continuous technological innovation, LXML has steadily improved resource recovery rates. Meanwhile, increased exploration efforts have yielded significant results, with the newly discovered SND gold-copper project laying a solid foundation for the future of the Sepon Mine. The project is expected to deliver the equivalent of "another Sepon Mine" and to significantly extend the mine's life of mine. Lyu emphasized that Chifeng Gold remains firmly committed to further invest in Laos' mining sector.

Deputy Prime Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane fully acknowledged the outstanding contributions made by Chifeng Gold and LXML to Laos' economic development in recent years, and encouraged the Company to continue its deep engagement in Laos, promoting further cooperation and shared economic progress in the mining sector between the two countries.

Lyu Xiaozhao stated that Chifeng Gold will take the 65th anniversary of China-Laos diplomatic relations as a new starting point to expand its footprint in Laos by establishing a green, innovative, and mutual benefiting mining corporation, and to contribute to the creation of a high-standard, high-level China-Laos community with a shared future.
