LXML Sepon Supports Savannakhet Province in COVID-19 Response

Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) Sepon mine donated US$15,000 to Savannakhet Province to support COVID-19 response.
“Savannakhet province has done a tremendous job in containing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, with majority being imported cases” said Mr Saman Aneka, LXML Managing Director. “We are pleased our contribution will build on this notable effort of the province in further keeping the community safe, and reviving the local economy.”
Last month, LXML donated US$100,000 to the Lao Government to support the official response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Laos. LXML also provided 116,115,000 kip to Savannakhet province to build hygiene facilities at Savannakhet Field Hospital, and 50,000,000 kip to Vilabouly District for relief efforts. LXML provided another 60,000,000 kip to Vientiane and Savannakhet rescue teams to support emergency response capacity.
To date, in partnership with the Lao Government, LXML has donated US$370,000 for COVID-19 prevention and response in Lao PDR.
These contributions enhance the Lao Government’s ability to effectively issue vaccinations and introduce other preventative measures.
Thanks to the supply of vaccines provided by the Lao Ministry of Health, especially, Savannakhet Health Division, LXML has vaccinated over 90 per cent of the workforce, about 3,300 people, in the last few weeks.
75% of LXML employees are from local Vilabouly district and Savannakhet Province.
