A high-level delegation from the Lao Central Party’s Polit-Bureau, led by Her Excellency Mme. Pany Yathortou, Vice President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), visited the Sepon mine, Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) on June 16, 2024, with great impression and success.

This high-level Government Delegation accompanied by Mr. Bounchome Ubonepraseuth, Governor of Savannakhet Province, Mr. Valiya Sichanthongthip, Governor of Vilabouly District, the other Senior officials from central government, and Savannakhet Province. The visit remarks the cooperation partnership between LXML and the central government in fostering for good corporate works for the best socio-economic contributions from LXML as a professionally leading investor in international standardized mining in Lao PDR.

As per the delegation by the President of LXML, Mr. Gao Bo and to ensure the feeding up of understandable information up on the Sepon Project to this government’s high-level mission, Mr. Zhou Xinbing – Vice President and Vice General Manager - Business Support has welcomed by conveying the regrets from LXML President as not be available to attend this shorten-noticed visit of the Vice President of Lao PDR and then provided the pragmatic presentation snapshot on the current status Sepon Project and the future development of Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) under the MEPA Agreement with Lao Govt..

Vice President of Laos Mme. Pany Yathortou praised LXML's positive contributions to Laos, acknowledging its significant role in socio-economic development at the national, Provincial, and local community grassroots to the Sepon Project.  Her Excellency well recognizes the good cooperation between LXML and the Central Govt.

Her Excellency suggest for further distributing of the Sepon Community Trust Fund (TF) through to wider communities and may either extend the Trust Fund to assist other Districts.

The Vice President of Laos is very happy to hear the Trust Fund provided the scholarship to the best student at the District high school, however, she suggested also considering the support to some pupils at class grade 5 and the teachers of the village’s primary schools.

Regarding the Fund for the Assistance to the Disadvantaged Group (FADG) of families, the Vice President also encouraged LXML to involve the most professional veterinary to support services for the community, Her Excellency is highly recognizing the agriculture and husbandry as the potential to drive local economic growth. She noted that China’s market now demands significant quantities of qualified cattle annually.

During the meeting presentation, Mr. Saman Aneka, LXML Managing Director has addressed the responses to the questions posed by the Vice President and clarified on the company's collaborations with the Central, Provincial, District Government and local host communities. Both the meeting presentation and site visit were graciously successful. The Delegation also visited the Sepon gold room with greatly impressed to see Sepon gold production.

Vice President of Laos is very happy to see so many Lao local contractors get the contract works with Sepon Project including the VDC, KXN, Hommalar Development Co., Vethasin Construction Co, local service, and suppliers.

Her excellency and the Governor of Savannakhet wish to see LXML become the best leading operation and keeps on achieving its responsible mining in the environmental management and community development for the international standard and legacy.
