Background and Career Journey
Mr. Chansamai Vernkeo, Senior Engineer Hydrogeology, born and raised in Nayom Village, Vilabouly District, Savannakhet, the employee has shown remarkable dedication to his education and career. After completing his primary education locally, he moved to Kaysone Phomvihane District for secondary and high school, and later to Vientiane to study geology at the Polytechnic College. He graduated with a Higher Diploma in Geology in 2009 and later earned a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from the University of Laos in 2023, with financial support from LXML.
Professional Experience
The employee began his career with LXML in 2009 as a Field Supervisor in Dewatering. Over the past 15 years, he has held various roles, including Supervisor Dewatering, Hydrogeology Engineer, Mine Production Engineer, and currently, Senior Engineer Hydrogeology. His extensive experience in hydrology and hydrogeology has been instrumental in effective water management at LXML, ensuring safety, cost-efficiency, and environmental compliance.
Overcoming Challenges
Starting his career with limited English proficiency and no formal background in hydrology, he faced significant challenges. However, his determination to learn and grow led him to overcome these barriers through self-study, attending English courses, and seeking mentorship from colleagues. His passion for water management and dedication to continuous learning have been key to his success.
Motivation and Future Aspirations
His motivation to pursue further education in groundwater hydrology stems from his belief in the importance of sustainable water management for mining and community development. By gaining advanced knowledge and skills, he aims to contribute significantly to the Lao PDR’s development and LXML’s business goals.
