Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2023 is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Training Coordinator - Professional Development to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

Working in conjunction with the Superintendent – Training, you will support the professional development across multiple working groups, to propose and execute efficient training solutions that are suitable to the business challenges and in line with the overall LXML training strategy. This role will act as a critical conduit to ensuring that employee professional development is maintained and achieved, as well as ensuring all employees and contractors work the level of competency or their designated roles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, manage and evaluate professional development programs and activities across all LXML.
  • Support the development and delivery of new employee orientation and induction programs.
  • Work in consultation with line managers to develop robust professional training needs analysis for employees.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and experts to develop appropriate training programs, plans and methods to meet specific training needs.
  • Preparation and submission of annual professional development training budgets
  • Manage training & assessment database and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Prepare and submit training reports as requested.
  • Champion and support the implementation of the Capability Database.
  • Contribute to the provision and identification of Learning and Development activities across the organisation that enhance leadership, technical, personal, and professional growth.
  • Support the development and implementation of annual performance management cycle, including providing coaching and advice to line managers and employees on the process.

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Training & Development, Education, Psychology or related fields.
  • Certificate in Professional Training or equivalent highly desirable.
  • 5-year experience in professional and organizational development roles.
  • Experience in transitioning training initiatives from concept, development, execution and sustained management.
  • Excellent knowledge of supervisory styles and techniques with the ability to improve performance in others.
  • Detail-level understanding and expertise in a variety of learning principles, training development, delivery and assessment.
  • Able to plan and organize face-to-face / online training events and simulations.
  • Able to work within structured timeframes.
  • Good communication skills both Lao and English, Chinese is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Ms Office Suite: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
