Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. In 2023, our planned production forecast is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth.  With the re-commencement of gold production at Sepon in 2020, and a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and merging and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

To support our operation, we are seeking a qualified candidate in the position of Supervisor - Underground Maintenance.

Reporting directly to the Superintendent – Underground Maintenance, this role will provide leadership to the underground electrical and underground mobile maintenance teams to ensure they are provided with the required support and coaching to do their roles successfully in regard to executing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance of equipment in a safe & timely manner, with the goal of providing plant availability and reliability, resulting in production and development targets, budgets and business plans being met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Review & approve maintenance notifications.
• Manage interrupt work.
• Review and manage employee requests.
• Supervise and manage daily work assignment to crews both in and outside the workshop.

Qualifications, skills and experience: 

• Trade qualification or relevant industry related experience.
• Supervisory skills and demonstrated leadership.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in trade qualification or relevant industry related experience on workshop floor.
• A minimum of 10 years in underground mobile maintenance or similar heavy industry environment
• Country of Origin driver’s license

This is a fixed term position based in Vilabouly district, Savannakhet province, Laos, offering an attractive 28 days on/14 days off with a FIFO roster from point of hire. The onsite camp facilities at Sepon include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, dining halls, convenience store, gym and sporting facilities, and a fully equipped medical center.
