Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Supervisor - Survey to join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain and enhancing safety standards in the workplace.
  • Ensure that all survey tasks are completed safely.
  • All direct reports complete the required SWIC’s for each survey task before commencing.
  • Review daily all SWIC’s submitted by their survey team.
  • Action all reportable hazards or with the area owner.
  • Ensure that surveys are carried out to the best current industry standards.
  • Conduct daily pre-start meetings and assign survey tasks to survey team.
  • Maintain training & upskilling of their direct reports.
  • Ensure all survey office & field work complies with all LXML survey procedures and standards.
  • Producing survey plans to the site standards and regulatory requirements for its clients and external regulators and ensuring their availability in a timely manner to operational personnel.
  • Execute design setout’s and pickups as required using current survey equipment & standards.
  • Executing design setout’s and pickups ensuring no development or production delays.
  • Verifying the accuracy of survey data by conducting regular audits & checks.
  • Maintain all survey equipment in original operational condition.
  • Control all survey consumables costs and reduce wastage.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Liaise with internal & external clients.
  • Conduct monitoring surveys of critical infrastructure.
  • Perform check surveys of all survey controls in and around the mine site.
  • Produce all reports within the agreed time frame.
  • Maintain survey procedures to ensure they currently reflect the survey tasks.
  • Identify gaps in survey procedures, make recommendations and adjustments to procedures.
  • Investigate opportunities to adopt technology that will make the workplace safer and productive.
  • Maintain operational discipline of direct reports.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary degree in Surveying, Geomatics engineering or equivalent qualification, current Driver’s License (Class B), First Aid training certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mining discipline.
  • Demonstrated and proven proficiency in executing all mine survey task with no supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience with surveying software such as Deswik, Vulcan, AutoCAD, and survey instruments such as total station’s, GPS and point cloud scanners.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Advanced communication skills with the English language both written and verbal.
