Supervisor – Processing Copper

Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Reporting to the Coordinator - Copper and Oxygen, the Supervisor – Processing Copper is responsible for leading and coordinating daily operational activities within the Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning (SX/EW) plant. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant production of copper cathode while developing operator capability and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Lead daily SX/EW operations to achieve production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, Permit to Work procedures, and environmental requirements.
• Enforce rigorous safety, health, and environmental compliance in the SX/EW area with a focus on hazardous area access controls and specialized fire prevention and protection procedures.
• Conduct safety meetings, pre-starts, and risk assessments.
• Monitor key process parameters and maintain product quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve plant reliability.
• Allocate tasks to operators and ensure activities are completed safely and efficiently.
• Supervise, coach, and develop operators to improve performance and competency.
• Identify process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions.
• Support continuous improvement and cost efficiency initiatives.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mineral processing plant.
• Experience in copper SX/EW operations preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Advanced understanding of SX/EW copper processing principles.
• Deep knowledge of solvent extraction chemistry and electrowinning principles. Familiarity with SX reagents (organics, diluents), electrolyte chemistry, and electrowinning equipment.
• Understanding of electrolyte chemistry and reagent control.
• Strong knowledge of safety systems, PTW, and isolation procedures.
• Computer literacy (MS Office; SCADA/DCS exposure preferred).
• Good English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Valid Class B driver’s license with a clean, proven driving record.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
