Superintendent - Mining Operations

Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business.

In support of this growth, we are looking for a Superintendent - Mining Operations join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting directly to the Mining Manager – Surface & Underground, the Superintendent – Mining Operations is responsible for overseeing mining operations and managing mining contractors to safely and efficiently deliver the mine plan. We are seeking a strong operational leader who already possesses extensive mining knowledge, a proactive safety mindset, solid contractor management capability, and proven operational experience within mining environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day mining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of the mine plan
• Manage and oversee mining contractor performance across production activities including drill & blast, load & haul, and dewatering
• Ensure short-term mine plans are clearly communicated, achievable, and aligned with production targets
• Monitor operational performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions where required
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through visible leadership and adherence to SHE standards
• Build effective working relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to support operational success
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and cost performance
• Identify and manage operational risks while ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures
• Support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and contractor performance evaluation activities
• Mentor and lead teams through strong communication, collaboration, and operational leadership

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Strong operational experience within open pit mining environments
• Demonstrated contractor management and stakeholder engagement capability
• Sound knowledge of mining operations, production activities, and mobile equipment
• Strong commitment to safety leadership and promoting a positive safety culture
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational performance outcomes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multicultural environments
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills
• Ability to analyse operational trends, manage risks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Experience working with mining contractors and cross-functional operational teams
• Previous experience in a Superintendent or senior leadership role within mining operations preferred
• Experience working with Chinese contractors or within expatriate environments will be highly regarded
• Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline is advantageous
• Mandarin, Lao, or Thai language skills will be highly regarded
• Strong English communication skills (both spoken and written).
