Officer – Financial Controller

Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Reporting to the Superintendent – Project Controls, the Officer – Financial Controller is responsible for providing centralized cost control and financial governance across capital projects to ensure expenditures remain within approved budgets and aligned with cash flow forecasts.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Develop capital budgets and forecasts in collaboration with project managers.
• Develop budgets, work breakdown structures, and cost tracking for individual projects with project managers.
• Monitor project expenditure and cash flow against budgets to ensure compliance.
• Collect, analyze, and validate financial data, ensuring accurate cost allocation.
• Develop cost reports and cash flow forecasts, highlighting variances, reasons, and recommended corrective actions.
• Develop cost drivers and cost improvement initiatives through detailed cost analysis of cost transactions.
• Complete month-end financial processes including journals and accruals.
• Reconcile goods and services transactions for accuracy.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with financial processes and procedures.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in cost control or financial management.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, cost forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles for projects.
• Experience in financial and procurement processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and enterprise systems (e.g. Pronto)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret financial data accurately.
• Ability to engage, influence, and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Good communication skills in both Lao and English, written and verbal.
