Financial Controller

Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Reporting to the Superintendent – Project Controls, the Financial Controller provides cost control and financial reporting support for LXML capital projects. The role is responsible for tracking project costs, maintaining budget and forecast information, and delivering accurate financial insights to support project planning, execution, and close-out.

Key Responsibilities Include:

•Maintain project cost records against approved budgets and cost codes.
•Track purchase orders, work orders, and contracts using ERP systems.
•Process goods receipts and verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and approved timesheets.
•Prepare month-end accruals and support financial reporting requirements.
•Reconcile project costs with Finance and explain variances.
•Support project forecasting, including Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
•Monitor budget changes, contingency usage, and emerging cost overruns.
•Prepare weekly and monthly project cost reports.
•Monitor outstanding purchase orders and work orders and report status regularly.
•Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audits and project close-out activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
•Minimum 1 year of experience in Project Cost Control or Project Accounting.
•Experience within mining, construction, or resource industries is desirable.
•Experience validating contractor invoices, contracts, and timesheets is advantageous.
•Experience with ERP systems, particularly Pronto, is desirable.
•Knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, accruals, cost control, and variance analysis.
•Experience with Primavera P6 or Power BI will be highly regarded.An attractive salary package, including performance-based incentives and other benefits is on offer for this role.
