Engineer - Mining

Reporting directly to the Vice General Manager – Key Business Growth Projects, the Engineer - Mining is responsible for supporting mining technical studies for the SND project during the Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility and Detailed Design stages. The role contributes to mine design, technical analysis and mining method evaluation for both open pit and underground scenarios, supporting the development of technically sound and economically optimized mining solutions for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support mining technical studies for the SND project during the Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility stages.
• Assist in evaluating mining methods, production strategies and development options for both open pit and underground mining scenarios.
• Contribute to pit optimization studies, pit designs and life-of-mine production scheduling for open pit mining.
• Support the evaluation and design of underground mining systems including development layouts, stoping strategies and production sequencing.
• Assist in the preparation of mine infrastructure layouts including ROM pads, waste dumps, haul roads and stockpile areas.
• Conduct technical and economic comparisons of mining scenarios to support project decision making.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations and study documentation.
• Support the preparation of CAPEX and OPEX inputs for mining studies and financial evaluation.
• Work closely with geology, geotechnical, hydrogeology and processing teams to ensure mining studies are fully integrated.
• Assist in preparing technical inputs for Mineral Reserve estimation and reporting.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the mining industry, with exposure to both open pit and underground mining operations or studies.
• Experience supporting Pre-Feasibility or Feasibility Studies will be highly regarded.
• Experience in site operations will be a strong advantage.
• Proficiency with mining software such as Deswik or Vulcan, including tools for pit optimization and underground mine design.
• Understanding of geotechnical and hydrogeological inputs to mine design.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate mining scenarios and technical data.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Professional fluency in English and Chinese is required.
