Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2023 is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Coordinator Cranes & Scaffold to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

The purpose of this job is to support the site operations in delivering Cranes & Scaffold Services to agreed schedules and safety requirements

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute planned Cranes & Scaffold Services to defined quality standards (procedures, standards, specifications).
  • Respond to unplanned maintenance activities and develop strategies to reduce re-occurrence.
  • Develop the skills and competencies of the work team to meet the critical safety requirements
  • Audit practices and compliance to site fatal risk standards for work at height and lifting / rigging standards
  • Develop improvement plans to enable compliance with site fatal risk requirements for work at height and lifting / rigging
  • Manage lifting, rigging and scaffolding registers
  • Develop work instructions for lifting, rigging and scaffold tasks.
  • Provide technical support to the Cranes & Scaffold teams on required quality of work standards and troubleshooting guidance.
  • Manage costs within budget and identifying methods of cost optimization.
  • Develop and deploy health, safety and environment improvement plans.
  • Work closely with all site Operations to understand priorities and to adapt plans accordingly.

 Experience, Skills and Qualifications,

  •  Minimum of 10 years maintenance experience in Cranes & Scaffold operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in Cranes & Scaffold services to support critical plant operations
  • Experience with design requirements, installation and operations of assorted Cranes & Scaffold equipment types.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading work teams.
  • Be proficient in the use of CMMS Systems (e.g., Pronto), MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer focus and teamwork skills to listen, interact, influence and deploy.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely through written and oral forms.
  • Be able to successfully lead teams to achieve safety, volume, cost outcomes.
  • Be able to coach and mentor team members to achieve higher levels of proficiency.
  • Open Crane qualifications & Scaffold experience
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence.
