Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 1.5 million ounces of gold doré.

In support of the growth at Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, we are looking for regional expats for the position of Technician Electrical – Underground Heavy Equipment to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future. Reporting to Supervisor – Underground Maintenance this role will provide repair and maintenance service for the Sepon Underground Mining Fleet. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain and repair machinery and vehicles to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications
• Identify and report faults on machinery and vehicles as they are identified
• Work to OEM standard repair timeframes
• Use the Pronto ERP system to manage required parts from warehouse stock
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for improving safety, production and cost performance in the Mobile Maintenance department
• Provide coaching to National employees through knowledge sharing

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Auto or HV electrical trade or engineering qualifications, or heavy vehicle mechanical trade with extensive auto electrical experience
• Able to work as an auto electrician on assorted heavy equipment, mechanical/hydraulic experience also preferred
• Must have prior experience working in an underground mining environment – internationally
• Experience with Sandvik DD421, DL430-7, DL432i drills preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience working in an underground mining environment
• Participate in safety and toolbox meetings
• Provide coaching and mentorship to national employees
• Ability to work with a group or individually within company procedures and policies
• Drivers License
• Has proficiency in the use of CMMS Systems (e.g. Pronto), MS Office products
