Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over one million tonnes of copper cathode and over 1.2 million ounces of gold doré.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Advisor – Processing within the Operations section of the Processing Department. Reporting to the Senior Superintendent – Processing (Operations), the Technical Advisor will provide operational support to the production crews as well as assisting in technical troubleshooting, new equipment commissioning and management of improvement projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring compliance with the Safe Work, Isolation and Permitting System (SWIPS).
• Creating safe work environment through routine safety contacts with field personnel.
• Assisting in design of new equipment and processes to ensure operational requirements are met.
• Assisting in developing Standard Operating Procedures and reviewing compliance against the procedures.
• Working closely with the production crews to ensure operational compliance against the operating strategy.
• To provide advice to the technical team in the development of the operating strategy.
• Operational readiness and commissioning of new projects, including
• Integrating the recently commissioned VPSA oxygen plants into standard plant operation.
• Providing support in the development and safe execution of shutdown plans.
• Identifying and executing improvement initiatives focused on safety, volume, and cost through LXML’s Operational Excellence program.
• Conducting safety and production incident investigations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• >10 years’ experience operating mineral processing plants ideally in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience specializing in the following areas: grinding, flotation, pressure oxidation, CIL, or gold room
• Demonstrated experience managing improvement projects.
