Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2023 is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Supervisor Trainee - Underground Mining to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

This role is responsible to be a key liaison between the Lao and expatriate underground workforce. Ensure all key activities and workplans for the day-to-day operation is being communicated from the shift bosses to all key operational staff. The growth opportunities that come with the role with come with one-on-one training by expatriate underground mining supervisors and coordinators.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Work with Underground Mining Supervisors to ensure that all Lao personnel are adhering to underground working standards and plans.
• Ensure that underground personnel are assigned to daily priority task to achieve the plan.
• Actively encourage and participate in a positive attitude towards safety and production.
• Ensure that all incidents and hazards are reported and investigated.
• Ensure and maintain compliance to weekly mine planning, mine design and profile standards.
• Conduct daily workplace inspection to ensure all safety hazards raised and addressed.
• Work with maintenance in organizing plant/equipment servicing.
• Be involved and communicate in safety message / management in Pre-Shift meetings.
• Demonstrate leadership in safety, health, and environment (SHE) through personal behaviours and conversations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in civil earthwork construction, earthwork movement, drilling & blasting, and heavy equipment is preferred.
• Able to drive and possess a valid driving license.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office or relevant software.
• High level of English fluency.
• Proactive and self-starter with a take-charge attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to engage and communicate with teams, providing positive and constructive feedback.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in supervision or leadership role.
