Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Supervisor - Procurement to join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future.

This role reports to the Superintendent – Procurement, you will be responsible for all assigned procurement activity, accountability for driving sourcing activities related to the procurement of goods, assisting the Superintendent in providing supervision, training and coaching to the procurement team members.

This role will be based in the Vientiane Office, with a roster of 5 days on and 2 days off.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Act in a responsible, courteous manner with the appropriate level of cultural sensitivity during all interaction with colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
• Support Superintendent Procurement as required.
  Leads development and execution of sourcing strategies, which align with business and stakeholder requirements.
• Develops and leads cross-functional teams in purchasing strategy development, sourcing and negotiations.
• Undertakes due diligence in mitigating all external supply risk from supplier selection.
• Identification and confirmation of the required level of expediting and logistics coordination depending on the nature of purchases.
• Deliver robust cost management and minimizes business risk.
• Maintain relationships with site and internal groups and co-ordinate activities in a controlled manner.
• Identify and escalate purchasing related problems.
• Identify, recommend and implement efficiency and cost improvement opportunities.
• Identify and deliver value through pro-actively establishing processes that correct non-compliance Demonstrate total transparency and ethical business practices in all activities.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in a commercial related discipline highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
• At least 7 years in Procurement.
• 3+ years within the resource industry.
• English is mandatory. Chinese will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding on ERP for sourcing (SAP, PRONTO, etc).
• Well-developed scheduling and planning skills, deadline focused.
• Good understanding of basic supply contracts and related principles.
• Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, etc).
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and negotiation techniques.
• An effective communicator with peers – written and verbal.
