Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. In 2023, our planned production forecast is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

To support our operation, we are seeking a qualified candidate in the position of Superintendent - Reliability.

This role will support the operations will enable fixed plant equipment to perform at budgeted availabilities, performance, and costs and mitigate the risk of significant business loss (safety, production, cost) through the leadership of the reliability engineering function across site.

 Other key responsibilities will include:

• Equipment strategy development
• Life cycle cost analysis and end of life replacement strategies
• Equipment downtime and performance analysis
• Reliability improvement through formal investigations and improvement plans
• Equipment risk management and contingency planning
• Verification of equipment strategies and quality deliverables being met
• Equipment condition monitoring analysis and secondary action improvement
• Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s standards and procedures in SSHE

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering and postgraduate in Maintenance Management (Desired) with a valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in the use of CMMS Systems (e.g. Pronto), MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), Equipment Health systems
• Minimum of 15 years maintenance experience in fixed plant process operations
• Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance inclusive of critical plant such as Autoclaves, Oxygen Plants, Grinding Mills, slurry pumps, HV electrical equipment, instrumentation and control systems
• Demonstrated experience in leading multi disciplined reliability teams and managing a broad number of improvement projects to intended outcomes
• Asset management inclusive of asset strategy development, shutdown management, maintenance planning, and, defect elimination
• Condition monitoring techniques inclusive of oil condition, thermography, vibration analysis, thickness testing, ultrasonic testing, and, machine health systems
• Best practices for maintaining critical plant such as Autoclaves, Oxygen Plants, Grinding Mills, slurry pumps, HV electrical equipment, instrumentation and control systems
• Demonstrated experience in developing the skills and competencies of people in developing countries for self-perform engineering
