Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Superintendent – Near Mine Exploration to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting to the Manager – Exploration, this role will be responsible for the coordination of the exploration activities for the near mine/advanced prospects focusing on technical excellence to drive results. Provide both high level and detail exploration plans which can increase gold and copper mineral resources. Whilst creating training plans to upskill our geologist team and providing on the job coaching and guidance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Preparation of high-level activity near mine/advanced prospects exploration drilling plans, schedule and budget.
• Review and coach senior geologists/geologists to prepare detailed near mine/advanced prospects exploration drilling plans and budget.
• Review and coach senior geologists/geologists to analyse and interpret geological sections as well as other geochemical and geophysical data.
• Guide and support geologists/senior geologists to properly conduct detailed mapping, hole proposal, drilling, logging, section interpretation and other field surveys.
• Prepare summary reports and presentations for each advanced prospect.
• Prepare monthly report and other exploration report.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A degree in geology or other relevant fields
• Over 15 years’ experience working in the exploration field
• Previous superintendent experience is essential
• Strong leadership skills and employee motivation skills
• Strong understanding of Skarn, Porphyry, Carlin and Orogenic systems.
• High level of geological skills and solid exploration experience in their application to develop advanced prospects.
• High level skills of geological software, MapInfo and/or ArcGIS/QGIS and 3D modelling software, preferably Leapfrog and Micromine
• Previous experience working as an expatriate with cultural diverse team
