Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In support of this growth, we are looking for Superintendent - Laboratory to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting directly to the Senior Superintendent – Processing (Technical), the Superintendent - Laboratory role is to safely and cost effectively manage the overall function of the processing laboratory, which supports analysis from Processing, Geology, Exploration, and Environmental samples.  You will be responsible for all analytical operations, budgeting, staffing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Development and validation of analytical methods by using strong chemistry skills and knowledge
• Operate and use Laboratory Information Management Systems such as CCLAS to a basic level for daily operations.
• Implement laboratory analytical QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure conformance to tasks as per Laboratory's Quality Assurance Manuals.
• Ensure laboratory turnaround times meeting the needs from clients: Processing, Geology, Exploration, and Environmental.
• Monitor laboratory turnaround times in-line with established targets and develop methods to reduce production bottlenecks for improvements in efficiency.
• Manage laboratory resources to optimise workflow with standardized quantity of samples processed for each laboratory task.
• Show commitment to personal development and improving the ability to coach and complete other tasks within the Laboratory.
• Coach and develop competencies in the operation and maintenance of various laboratory bench equipment. Preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Monthly Review the laboratory cost variance report.
• Using interpersonal skills, you will communicate effectively with others team members and contribute to a harmonious working environment.

 Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science – Chemistry or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of chemist experience working in a mining or environmental laboratory.
• Minimum 5 years supervision experience.
• In-depth experience of laboratory instrumentation and equipment both operation and maintenance.
• Good knowledge of laboratory quality systems such as NATA/ISO17025.
• Development and validation of analytical methods.
