Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. In 2023, our planned production forecast is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

To support our operation, we are seeking a qualified candidate in the position of Superintendent - Engineering. This role will support the operations in mitigating the risk of significant business loss (safety, production, cost) through the site engineering leadership of mechanical, electrical / instrumentation / control system engineering disciplines.

 Other key responsibilities will include:

• Site electrical and mechanical engineering governance and validation of critical control compliance.
• Electrical and mechanical engineering standards and practices that are applicable for site operations, inclusive of HSE / fatality prevention requirements
• Site drawing management
• Management of Change management
• Electrical and mechanical engineering input into plant modifications and capital projects
• Technical support for best practice maintenance on Critical Equipment
• Repair specifications and procedures for rebuild components, tanks, structures, vessels, HV motors, transformers, switchgear etc
• Integrity assessments of tanks, pipes, steel and concrete structures, retaining walls. HV power reticulation system
• Statutory management of electrical equipment, lifting equipment, pressure equipment
• Load studies and integrity assessments of critical electrical equipment
• Project management of small capital projects and improvement projects
• Information technology and equipment condition support
• Incident investigations related to technical and safety related matters
• Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s standards and procedures in SSHE.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering with a valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in the use of CMMS Systems (e.g. Pronto), MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
• Minimum of 15 years maintenance experience in fixed plant process operations
• Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance inclusive of critical plant such as Autoclaves, Oxygen Plants, Grinding Mills, slurry pumps, HV electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Demonstrated experience in leading multi disciplined planning and engineering teams and managing a broad number of improvement projects to intended outcomes.
