Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Superintendent – Drill to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting directly to Senior Superintendent – MP Drilling, this role is responsible for all the safe, productive and cost effective drilling operation. You will be required to liase with both the technical and field team to ensure all drilling targets are met and data is provided to the key stakeholders. Mentor and coaching will be key to ensuring the workforce is continually developing and working at the highest safety standard.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

• Be the key communication link between the day-to-day operations and ensuring drilling targets are met whilst maintaining all safety standards.
• Ensure minimum downtime for rig moves and coordinate with other operational department for drilling work.
• Monitor day-to-day drill management activities
• Make sure all LXML drilling procedures are followed and ensure that down hole surveys are accurate and collected on timely basis
• Responsible for all drill consumables and stock control by managing drill consumable stocks, control drill mud/fluid usage and track cost of drill consumable materials.
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports to key stakeholders in the department
• Continually drive safety initiatives to ensure that it is at the forefront of all drilling activities

 Experience, Skills and Qualifications: 

• More than 10-20 years’ experience of Drilling and mining industry experience is preferable.
• Skilled in operating drill rig (preferred) and provide technical expertise to team members.
• Be a proactive and encouraging leader to drive productivity within the team
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Competent in report writing including problem solving and safety investigation which will go to next up line manager / the Manager
• Proficiency in Microsoft word, outlook, excel and power point is necessary
