Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Superintendent - Compliance and Approval to join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting directly to the Manager – Community and Stakeholder Relations, this role will be essential in the planning, implementing and managing of project environmental approvals that supports the Company’s business plans in a pragmatic and timely manner. This role is Vientiane based, however, travel to site located in Vilabouly District in Savannakhet will be required as per the business need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Sepon ESIA, HIA, ESMMP and HMMP, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and submitting approvals to relevant authorities.
• Lead the Renewal of Operational Licenses process, handling Water Use & Discharge license coordination and renewals.
• Facilitate additional project approvals, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants and GoL agencies.
• Collaborate with management on annual budget planning for compliance-related activities, ensuring alignment with the company’s CSR business plan.
• Support budget tracking for community development projects, ensuring funds are utilized efficiently and in line with strategic goals.
• Inform internal stakeholders of GoL’s project approval procedures and processes.
• Facilitate regular government inspections and ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Maintain the license register and coordinate extensions and renewals as needed.
• Ensure the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal guidelines.

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Social Science, Environmental Law, Natural Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience in Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) with at least five additional years of professional experience.
• Proficiency in Lao and English (Chinese is highly desirable).
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient in project management and Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience in budget planning and CSR activities is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in the mining industry is preferred.
