Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Specialist Trainer – Underground to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

This role reports to the Superintendent – Underground Mining. The successful incumbent will be an experienced Trainer who will be responsible for the overall advice, design, implementation and monitoring of the Training activities for the underground operation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare, implement and execute training plans for Lao nationals and expatriates to be safe operation and efficiency
• Coordinator with HR training department to develop the training matrix then conduct practical assessments and control the underground training systems to align with site standard.
• Design and deliver underground safety inductions and safety training when required.
• Implementation of risk management tools to mitigate safety issue that might arise
• Conduct regular task observation and inspections to make sure all compliance
• Foster relationships between operational departments to ensure safety practices are consistently followed and issues are reported
• Drive continuous improvement and effectively integrate health and safety activities with the day-to-day operations
• Mentor and develop Lao national employees according to LXML training plan
• Work autonomously with the underground mining crews and with the underground supervisors of your daily plans
• Ensure compliance with LXML’s management systems and all statutory and legal standards

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

• At least 5 years+ experience in underground training and 10+ years in underground mining
• Certification in Training/Safety or Cert IV in training and assessment
• Proven track record of driving safety best practices from department to operational context
• A record of strong safety performance and familiarity with implementing established safety systems
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy in from key stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, analytical and presentation skills;
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees of various cultural backgrounds;
• Proven ability to work strategically both within and external to the department; and
• Knowledge of computerized systems and software with an emphasis on MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and INX

This expatriate assignment is residentially based in the Lao capital city of Vientiane on a 9/5 roster to site.  Alternatively, a longer FIFO roster from your home country can be agreed for the right candidate.
