Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Superintendent – Integrated Mine Planning to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

This role reports to the Manager – Mine Technical Services; this role is responsible for the leadership of the Integrated Mine Planning team, playing a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing mine planning activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of gold resources to meet the budget. You will contribute to organisational success by delivering an optimal production profile from underground and open pit mining operations through pragmatic, effective, and collaborative mine planning activities aligned to the strategic direction of the business.

 Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and deliver long, medium and short-term plans, aligned with LXML targets and budget cycles.
• Collaborate with financial and geology departments to review and update cost models and Ore Reserve reports.
• Ensure ongoing optimisation of mining activities such design revisions, optimisations against updated block models, revision of financial and operating inputs, fleet reviews, etc.
• Create blast designs that are optimised for ore recovery in both open pit and underground.
• Identify and develop plans for operational issues that may have an immediate or long-term effect on mine productivity.
• Support, direct and influence mine operations to achieve operational effectiveness and ensure safety standards in line with mining regulations.
• Project design and management, ensuring delivery of ancillary tasks to support operational delivery, contributing to projects and expansion of facilities and equipment.
• Oversee the execution of the dumping plan.
• Manage the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the IMP team to ensure that plans are effective, compliance is monitored, costs are minimised, and the operating and capital budgets are achieved in the identified KPIs
• Provide mentorship to other engineers in the department and design training plans to ensure high level plans are produced

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related studies

• At least 8 years’ experience across both open cut and underground mining
• Multiple mine site experience across a variety of commodities and operational environments preferred
• Experience in a Senior or Superintendent level role leading a small team
• Use of industry software packages, including but not limited to Deswik, Vulcan, Whittle
• Previous expatriate experience is highly desirable

• Strong verbal and written English communication
• Able to build strong interdepartmental working relationships to ensure that cross departmental achievements are met
