Senior Officer - Procurement

Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2025, our planned production is 5,703 kg of Gold and 10,010 tonnes of copper.

We are seeking a Senior Officer – Procurement to play a critical role in supporting our Underground business unit. Reporting to the Superintendent – Procurement, this position provides strategic procurement oversight and ensures the effective delivery of purchasing, expediting, and logistics services that directly enable operational performance. The Senior Procurement Officer will work closely with Underground leadership, technical teams, and inventory functions to drive procurement excellence, optimise supply security, and support continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide strategic oversight of underground consumable stock levels and deliver accurate, forward-looking reporting to support operational planning.
• Represent the Procurement function in daily Underground operational meetings, providing advice, insights, and proactive solutions.
• Collaborate with Underground leaders, technical end users, and inventory teams to establish procurement priorities and align purchasing activities with operational requirements.
• Lead RFQ processes and raise purchase orders for stock and non-stock items in line with commercial, technical, and budgetary expectations.
• Identify, assess, and manage procurement and supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply to critical production areas.
• Drive expediting activities and maintain strong engagement with suppliers to meet operational deadlines and contractual commitments.
• Track, review, and report purchase order status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and timely communication.
• Uphold and strengthen LXML’s reputation through professional, ethical, and solutions-focused interactions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Champion process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks across the procurement cycle.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to colleagues within the procurement team when required.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics roles, preferably within mining, heavy industry, or large-scale operational environments in the Asia Pacific or China region.
• Strong technical understanding of materials and consumables used in underground mining, including equipment specifications, critical spares, and safety-related products.
• Demonstrated capability in identifying supply chain risks, developing mitigation strategies, and resolving complex delivery or supplier performance issues.
• Proficiency in Pronto, SAP, or similar ERP systems, with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making.
• Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Lao, and Thai (written and spoken).
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with operational teams, technical stakeholders, and suppliers.
