Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Opera-tion, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the busi-ness. In 2025, our planned production is 5,703 kg of Gold and 10,010 tonnes of copper.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Open pit, the Senior Engineer – Mine Production is responsible for pit development, open-pit mine design, with a focus on delivering optimal resource extraction within the unique geological and operational context of the Sepon mine. The role involves leading the planning and implementation of mining activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.

 Key Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and maintain detailed pit development schedules for the Sepon open-pit operation, including staging and phased development to maximize resource recovery.
• Lead pit development, designing initial and ongoing pit phases aligned with geological models and resource estimates.
• Generate and optimize open-pit mine and waste dump designs that consider local geotechnical conditions, environmental constraints, and economic factors specific to the Sepon mine.
• Collaborate closely with geology, survey, geotechnical and engineering teams to integrate resource models and geological data into mine-planning.
• Monitor and adjust operational plans to address challenges unique to the Sepon site, ensuring safety and productivity standards are upheld.
• Ensure compliance with Laos mining regulations, environmental policies, and international safety standards.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and planning staff involved in mine design and scheduling.
• Prepare technical reports and operational documentation tailored to the Sepon project.
• Coordinate with contractors, local authorities, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operational workflows.
• Utilize advanced mining software (Deswik and Vulcan) to develop, analyse, and optimize mine plans.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil/ Mining), or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in open-pit mining, large civil construction projects.
• Ability to develop realistic, efficient, and phased mining schedules.
• Knowledge of Laos mining laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards
• Valid Lao driver license (B).
• A good command of spoken English.
• Solid experience in in-pit development and open-pit mine design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills tailored to complex settings.
