Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2023 is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Security Patrol Coordinator to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Daily monitor activity, work of roving patrol team and static guard to ensure that all require tasks implement correctly, and manpower of static guard in the field to make sure that they are provide correct location.
• Coordinate with roving patrol team and Lao security contractor to respond security incident in the field, monitor and advise the correct way to deal with the issue.
• Work closely with the Shift Security supervisor to ensure the goals of the Security Department are achieved to the required standard.
• Continually monitor and assess security function in the field to seek means of improvement to prevent loss and report to Shift Security supervisor to engage with respective department.
• Continually monitor working of security contractor at the field to see any training that require to develop their performance to achieve gold security department.
• Ensure that competency standards are maintained within the Lao Security Contractor by working with Shift supervisor to delivery training and refresh training for security procedure and post instruction.
• Comply with any security related instruction as directed by your immediate reports.
• At times, based on operational security requirements, work extraordinary hours to accomplish targets.
• Promote a security, Safety, and environmentally friendly working culture through demonstrated personal behaviour and commitment to safety and the environment, leading by example and initiating good practices.
• Act in a responsible, courteous manner and exhibit the appropriate levels of cultural sensitivity during all interactions with colleagues, local communities, visitors and Government official.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

• Training and relevant qualification in Policing or Security operations.
• Training qualification in English language.
• 3 years’ experience in the mining industry in the field of Security.
• Experience in an open pit environment, working closely with contract security personnel and local law enforcement agencies, and the supervision of contractor personnel.
• Ability to obtain a Lao Driver License.
• Ability to build a relationship with provincial and local authority.
• Ability to investigate the incident and report.
• Developed knowledge of supervisory styles and techniques with the ability to improve performance in others.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others as part of a team and contribute to a harmonious working environment.
• Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and the ability to maintain direction and achieve work objectives.
• Able to work under a dynamic working condition that can, at times be stressful.
