Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. In 2023, our planned production forecast is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth.  With the re-commencement of gold production at Sepon in 2020, and a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and merging and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

To support our operation, we are seeking a qualified candidate in the position of Operator – Underground Production Driller.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct pre-starts on equipment prior to operation.
• Operate equipment to Best Practice to minimize damage on equipment.
• Follow and interpret mine plan instructions, profiles designs and ground support.
• Read and accurately follow mine instruction plans with skills and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design dump, rotation and burden.
• Provide assistance to other underground mining operators as and when required.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
• Report significant changes in the ground conditions and use of consumables and all SSHE incidents.
• Coach new and/or inexperienced operators.
• Conclude shift with a hose down with cleaning and refuelling of equipment.
• Conduct manual scaling technique as required.
• Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with underground shift supervisor and cross shift operator.
• Demonstrate and promote awareness of SSHE practices and imbed a safety culture.
• Understand daily target and perform the best to achieve target.

 Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Previous experience on Sandvik drill a must, and preference given with experience on a Sandvik DL432i series.
• Minimum 5 years underground experience.
• Drivers Licence on related field and basic first aid (preferred).
• Good attitude and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, using the 2-way radio in a professional manner.
• Ability to do other duties when instructed and willing to follow Supervisor's Instruction.
