Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Reporting to the Senior Production Geologists, the Mine Geologist is tasked with managing the definition and efficient extraction of the company’s mineral resources. This includes ensuring the controlled delivery of ore to the mill, minimizing ore dilution, and maximizing ore extraction. Additionally, the Mine Geologist is responsible for defining waste material for ARD purposes and providing technical supervision and guidance in all aspects of mining geology.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Understanding the Sepon geology and material classification systems for Cu and Au.
• Design, plan, schedule, and execute drilling activities in alignment with production targets and mine planning schedules.
• Liaison with and supervision of drilling contractor to ensure high-quality sampling practices and recovery.
• Provide guidance to subordinates on sample preparation, core processing, analysis, QAQC, and dispatching.
• Generate sectional interpretations of mineralisation for mine planning functions.
• Provide technical supervision, analysis, and support to production geology and ore control functions, including ore and waste block design, maintenance of material type classifications, blast movement measurement, and adjustment of ore/waste boundaries, markups, and mining practices, with a focus on ore loss and dilution control.
• Oversee the management of ore ROM/stockpiles to ensure optimal blending and grade consistency, including monitoring ROM/stockpile grade and tonnage quality and quantity through modelling, sampling, design building, trucking movements (dumping and reclaiming), and blending.
• Represent geology in production meetings where activities affect mining operations.
• Participate in and/or perform additional geological tasks as assigned by the Technical Services Manager, Production Geology Superintendent, and Senior Geologists

 Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in open cut mining, with exposure to underground mining highly regarded.
• Good command of English (both verbal and written).
• Experience across multiple mine sites and various commodities and operational environments is highly regarded.
• Proficiency in geological software packages, including but not limited to Vulcan, Leapfrog, BMM Explorer.

• Proficiency in managing and maintaining databases, including data entry and data integrity. Experience with database software and tools, such as Acquire, GeoBank SQL, or Microsoft Access, is preferable.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
