Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2023 is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Maintenance Planner to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

The Maintenance Planner role is in charge of preparing scope of works, plan, schedule and coordinate all maintenance activities, identify resources, determine tools and required equipment to execute planned work, routinary and major shutdown maintenance safely, effectively and cost efficient, according to the Work Management Process and CMMS processes, thus minimizing downtime requirements and maximizing productivity

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to Work Management and continually improve planning & scheduling processes.
• Reviews and Approve work requirements from customers in adequate time, according to priority.
• Creates Work Order from approved Work request and fully plans and scopes work to have it ready for scheduling.
• Create and develop a Gantt chart for shutdowns in MS Project, which includes all Operational Ramp down and, cleaning and isolations sequence required for maintenance work, all work requiring shutdown and handover milestones to allow Operational Ramp Up.
• Refrain from personal actions which may negatively impact on LXML local reputation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering degree or relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a maintenance planner.
• Understanding of project reporting and project controls.
• Strong analytical, time management, planning and scheduling skills.
• High attention to details and ability to meet tight deadlines consistently.
• Monitor Asset Management KPI’s and report to the Asset Management Implementation Supervisor.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Pronto at intermediate level.
