Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Since operations commenced in 2003, LXML Sepon has produced over 1.1 million tonnes of copper cathode and over 53 tonnes of gold. In 2022, Sepon produced 6,600 tonnes of copper and 6.7 tonnes of gold. Planned production for 2023 is over 6 tonnes of gold and 7,000 tonnes of copper.

LXML is now positioning itself for future growth. With the transition from a copper-focused operation to a gold-focused operation completed in 2020 and with a number of other feasibility studies, a ramp up in exploration and with merger and acquisition activity underway, the future for LXML and the Sepon operation is unlimited in potential and opportunity.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Engineer - Reliability to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Asset Reliability, the Engineer - Reliability will use diverse techniques and methodologies to develop, implement, and maintain equipment maintenance strategies according to strategic objectives of the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Equipment strategy development.
• Life cycle cost analysis and end of life replacement strategies.
• Equipment downtime and performance analysis.
• Reliability improvement through formal investigations and improvement plans.
• Equipment risk management and contingency planning.
• Verification of equipment strategies and quality deliverables being met.
• Equipment condition monitoring analysis and secondary action improvement.

 Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical.
• 5 years maintenance experience in fixed plant process operations.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Has strong customer focus and teamwork skills to listen, interact, influence and deploy.
• Has strong public speaking and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely through written and oral forms.
• Has the ability to successfully lead multi disciplined planning and engineering teams that supports the delivery of safety, volume, cost outcomes.
• Has the ability to coach and mentor team members to achieve higher levels of proficiency.
• Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance inclusive of critical plant such as Autoclaves, Oxygen Plants, Grinding Mills, slurry pumps, HV (High voltage) electrical equipment, instrumentation and control systems.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a broad number of reliability improvement projects to intended outcomes.
