Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Draftsman to join our team to deliver on our growth plans, and be a part of this exciting future.

This role reports directly to the Superintendent – Engineering, this role is responsible for upkeep of all LXML engineering drawings libraries and archives (electrical, mechanical etc), creating, editing, updating required drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements for project work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Liaising with engineers to gather mechanical, electrical, product and structural requirements and designs.
• Calculating dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials.
• Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used).
• Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Diligently upkeep engineering drawings library with regular updates.
• Communicate with maintainers, planners and engineers, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.
• Ensure final designs are compliant with relevant regulations.
• Identify and communicate potential design problems to the rest of the team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or a technical college diploma
• Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).
• Ability to draw manually favorable, but not essential.
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of Civil, Mechanical & Electrical engineering basics.
