Vientiane Capital, 30 April 2026 – Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) has fulfilled its 2025 profit tax obligation to the Government of the Lao PDR with a total payment of LAK 2,200,952,209,498 (approximately USD 102.37 million). The official handover ceremony took place at the Tax Department, Ministry of Finance.

The payment was formally handed over by Mr. Saman Aneka, Managing Director of LXML and received by Mr. Khamphan Phanthoulack, Acting Director General of the Tax Department. The ceremony was attended by representatives from relevant government agencies, stakeholders, and LXML technical staff.

In his remarks, Mr. Aneka emphasized that the tax payment reflects the LXML’s continued commitment to responsible operations and strict compliance with the laws and regulations of the Lao PDR. He noted that transparent and timely tax contributions play a vital role in supporting national development through both direct and indirect economic benefits. Mr. Saman stated:

“This achievement also underscores LXML’s strong operational performance, consistently recognized with an A+ rating by the Government. Beyond economic contributions, we remain deeply committed to improving the livelihoods of local communities and supporting sustainable development.”

Mr. Saman further highlighted that LXML has successfully applied modern technologies to process low-grade gold ore, enabling the extension of mine life and sustaining production at approximately five tonnes of gold per year. This advancement has allowed LXML to defer its previously planned mine closure in 2023 and continue efficient operations.

Over more than two decades of operating the Sepon Gold and Copper Mine in Savannakhet Province, LXML has established itself as a leader in the mining sector and a benchmark for responsible mining practices. This includes strong environmental management and significant investments in infrastructure, education, and public health to strengthen surrounding communities.

Through its substantial contributions to the national socio-economic development, LXML remains committed to advancing sustainable mining practices in line with international standards, supporting the Lao PDR’s growing role in the regional mining industry.

In response, Mr. Khamphan commended LXML for its outstanding performance, recognizing the Company as a model enterprise that consistently operates in compliance with laws and regulations and has earned the trust of government leadership over many years. He expressed appreciation for LXML’s continued cooperation, particularly its support during periods of national fiscal constraint.

He further affirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with LXML, including support for future operational planning and eventual mine closure in accordance with regulatory requirements, ensuring long-term mutual benefits.
